content (City Life) In this interview Sauro explains the plans and actions of the teams involved in the Thane cyclone recovery. The main priority is to supply power generators to fill up the communities' tanks scattered around Auroville. Generators has been rented and an order has been placed to buy 3 more of them. The Electrical Service is working from dawn to sunset preparing the installation of the main electrical lines which had been damage. There was no casualty in Auroville, all the guests are safe and the guest houses are open.

Monday, 26 December 2011 (City Life) In this talk the landscape architects Achva and David Stein from New York that were invited by the Auroville planning section L'Avenir to help to prepare a plan for the development of the Green Belt are presenting some of their works to explain their approaches to landscape planning. They have been involved in large scale projects all over the world including India, have won many awards with their work and have now spend more than a month in Auroville to study the local situation.

Monday, 20 June 2011 (Environment) "The Divine plan is always there, all we have to do is open up, and take a next step...keep going..." told us B in an interview about his life, passion for waste management and other projects he's involved in. He came to Auroville in 1974, in its early beginning when town was is the survival mode; saw all the changes and transitions, and yet he feels extremely grateful that he was born at the right time to go trough this incredible adventure, as he named it. B is strongly convinced that Zero Waste Management is and achievable goal, because is something that people can understand. Up to today we managed to come to the point that we recycle 60 percents of the garbage, the rest 40 percents can be slowly chipped away by technology which is already available today.

Wednesday, 08 December 2010 (Environment) Another speaker at the Green Practice workshop held in August was Bhavana Dee, who founded the Auroville Village Action Group (AVAG) in 1983. When Bhavana arrived at Auroville in 1971 it was a barren wasteland and “it was not anything like a city”. She went on to describe how they all worked together, along with the local villagers to help, to build Auroville. Calling it a very colourful time, she said the community was a happy one despite the lack of many basic facilities. Bhavana said if people take up the cause many such barren lands can be restored to their past glory as “mother nature is right there, ready to cooperate”. Tuesday, 23 November 2010 (News) The news today features the lively laughter and profound sentiments of Aurovilian Martanda, enthusiastic about water work but also the life of the forest, the trees. Martanda is proficient in water work, awaiting the actual birth of Aquatica to occur as he works in earnest in the forests surrounding this city. Also in the news an excerpt from a sample newsletter, which is given each week to the community by those who support agriculture, from the Auroville Green Center, reminding one and all that sustainability is one of Auroville's dreams, its objectives.
Monday, 22 November 2010 (City Life) The earliest settlers on the land of Auroville: Debora and Bob. Listen to Debora reminisce about those days, back in 1968....Forecomers is the name Mother gave to that area and Debora and Bob were those pioneers to come first. Under primitive conditions they built a basic strructure on an arid plain overlooking a canyon, chosen for its beauty. Water was delivered daily by truck which meant boiling it for drinking as well as learning to bathe with perhaps two cups of the precious commodity, until a bore well was prepared. Debora, visiting Auroville today, finds the present living conditions indeed luxurious compared to 40 years ago. She also describes meeting the Mother.
Thursday, 18 November 2010 (News) The news today features land and sea and the sand connecting them: the beaches. A second beach erosion meeting held at Quiet last week focused on the urgent need for action and for joining forces, beginning with re-constitiuting an Auroville Coastal Group. Secondly to establish clear facts, and long-term as well as short-term objectives, beginning with the fact that the sea-erosion of Tamil Nadu's beaches is caused by the Breakwater of Pondicherry's harbour, which is due to the constructing of the many groynes in the Pondy territory, all of which block the natural flow of sand. Monday, 01 November 2010 (News) Ross of the Entry Service is featured in today's news in an excerpt from a presentation he made last Saturday, offering insights on what the work is in serving in this crucial group. Also in the news there's an announcement about the upcoming data-collection to begin in the work of updating the records of Aurovilians, a census in fact. Also information from the Auroville Forest Group on the planting of TDEF (Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest) as they planted 18,000 seedlings, restoring the habitat ,waging the good battle against unconscious tree cutting. Monday, 11 October 2010 (Environment) Auroville joined the world on 18 September 2010 for the first annual celebration of bamboo to increase the awareness of bamboo's glory globally. Monday, 20 September 2010 (Environment) After 12th of January when earthquake of catastrophic magnitude stroke Haiti, the whole world react on it with different ways of help. Sadhana Forest Group left for Haiti in April to offer help and introduce the model of reforestation project with environmental leadership program. On the South West corner of Haiti, on the border with Dominican Republic, in the poorest area of Anse-a-Pitre the piece of land was offered to them to work on it.
